The rent for real estate for the operation of public institutions, the residence of directors and other holders of sovereign bodies, in Inhambane province, is around 14 million meticais, revealed the provincial Director of Economy and Finance, Castro Namuaca.
Quoted by NewsHe said that the state's new operating model, which is aimed at decentralization, has forced different institutions to look for other buildings to relieve the congestion in those where different bodies used to operate. This has put pressure on the rental budget.
Namuaca was speaking during an extraordinary meeting of the Council of State Representation Services following a visit by the Assembly of the Republic's Committee on Public Administration and Local Government.
The rapporteur of the Public Administration and Local Government Commission, António Muchanga, acknowledged that the lack of funds is compromising the implementation of activities planned for this year. He gave as an example the failure of the first quarter's prevention plan at the Provincial Anti-Corruption Office, due to the inability to reach all the districts in the province.
He noted that the same was true of the Provincial Executive Council. For its part, the Council of State Representation Services revealed that it has been without investment for more than three years.
