Around four million meticais is the amount owed by the National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (INGD) to suppliers of various products in Sofala.
The products were channeled to families affected by cyclone IDAI in 2019.
Most of the debt was contracted with some economic agents and from the sale of basic food products, especially cereals and cooking oil, reports RM, quoting the head of the Administration and Finance department at the INGD in Sofala, Rita Mobambe.
The source assured that part of the debt has already been entered in the Treasury, stressing that the budget is awaiting its settlement.
"Suppliers have to be paid and part of the debt of the four million, I can tell you that the two and a half million has been booked and settled," he said, quoted by RM.
