Índico Seguros, Yango Moçambique and the cab service called ATAXIMA recently signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a mutual cooperation agreement with a view to reducing cab fares.
As part of this partnership, the Indico insurance company will offer discounted car insurance policies to drivers registered on the Yango platform.
Thus, the three organizations aim to improve the working conditions of Yango's partner drivers by offering affordable insurance options, including discounts on premiums, benefits and exemptions. The initiative also aims to promote road safety, responsible driving practices and a safer transport sector.
On the occasion, Yango's general manager in Mozambique, Zameer Adam, said that the initiative demonstrated the dedication of the company he represents to fostering trust and promoting the well-being of the Mozambican community.
"At Yango Mozambique, the safety of our partners' drivers, couriers and users is our top priority. Our collaboration with Índico Seguros reinforces our commitment to providing a safer experience for all users of our platform," he said.
For his part, the executive director of Índico Seguros, Ruben Chivale, stressed that the "agreement benefits both Yango's driver partners - supporting their financial management and operational stability - and society in general, promoting a culture of road responsibility and strengthening trust in the transport sector".
Meanwhile, the president of the Maputo City Taxi Association (ATAXIMA), Bernardo Machangane, expressed his satisfaction with the initiative and called on Índico and Yango to continue to work together to improve cab services in Mozambique.
