The maritime military forces of India, Mozambique and Tanzania (IMT Trilat) are carrying out joint military exercises off the coast of south-east Africa, according to the Defense Web.

The current edition of the exercise is planned in two phases. As part of the port phase, which took place between March 21 and 24, the Indian ships Tir and Sujata interacted with their respective navies in the ports of Zanzibar (Tanzania) and Maputo (Mozambique).
The maritime phase will include joint surveillance of the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). The exercise will end with a joint debriefing scheduled for the port of Nacala.
The Indian Navy, according to the portal, said that these activities underline India's outreach to promote friendly relations through maritime cooperation, aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's maritime vision, known as "SAGAR - Security and Growth for All in the Region", with an emphasis on the Global South.
