The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) is forecasting a cold wave, characterized by cold weather with maximum temperatures that could range from 15 to 19 degrees Celsius this Friday and Saturday (21)..

In a statement released by the institution, it is said that the low pressure phenomenon will occur in the districts of Matutuíne, Namaacha, Boane, Moamba, Magude, Manhiça, Marracuene and the cities of Maputo and Matola, in Maputo province.

In Gaza province, the phenomenon could occur in the districts of Mabalane, Massingir, Chòkwe, Bilene, Limpopo, Madlakaze, Mapai, Chicualacuala, Massangena, Chigubo, Chibuto, Guijá, Chongoene and the city of Xai-xai.

"INAM predicts the occurrence of weak to moderate rain, locally moderate to strong, accompanied by scattered thunderstorms from the end of Friday, with greater incidence on Saturday, in the provinces of Maputo and Gaza," adds the note, calling for precautionary and safety measures in view of the discomfort caused by the cold wave.
