The provinces of Sofala, Manica, Tete and Zambézia, in the central region, could be affected from Monday evening by moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
According to the National Meteorological Institute (INAM), the rain could reach 30 to 50 millimeters in 24 hours.
Risk area:
Sofala province (districts of Marromeu, Muanza, Cheringoma, Caia, Maríngue, Chemba, Dondo, Nhamatanda, Chibabava, Búzi and Cidade da Beira);
Manica province (districts of Guro, Tambara, Macossa, Bárue, Manica, Gondola, Sussundega, Macate Cidade de Chimoio);
Tete province (districts of Magoé, Cahora Bassa, Mutarara, Changara, Doa, Chifunde, Marara, Tsangano, Angónia, Macanga, Chiúta and Tete city).
Zambezia province (districts of Chinde, Mopeia, Morrumbala, Milange, Inhassunge, Nicoadala, Derre, Maquival and the city of Quelimane).
In view of the occurrence of rain and thunderstorms, INAM recommends taking precautionary and safety measures.
In addition, light to moderate rain is expected to continue in the provinces of Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane.
