Heineken to raise beer prices this year

Dutch multinational Heineken will raise beer prices this year in order to offset the increases in operating costs to which it is subject, writes Five Days (free access, content in Spanish), quoted by Eco Online.

The decision appears in its 2021 earnings presentation report, with the brewer anticipating that it expects "a significant impact from inflation and supply chain pressures. More specifically, we expect our costs per hectoliter to grow in the double digits" due to "strong [price] increases in raw materials, energy and transportation."

In this context, the Dutch multinational reveals that it will offset this price increase "through prices in absolute terms, which may lead to more moderate beer consumption," according to the report consulted by Cinco Dias.

In 2021, Heineken went from losses to profits, having registered a net result of 2,041 million euros, that is, an increase of 80.2% compared to the same period, according to the same newspaper.
