Hamas revealed on Wednesday that an "agreement to end the war in Gaza" has been reached, stressing that it allows humanitarian aid in, implements a "prisoner exchange" and guarantees the departure of Israeli forces from the enclave.
"We deeply appreciate the efforts of our brothers and mediators in Qatar, Egypt and Turkey, and we also value the efforts of US President Donald Trump, which aim to end the war permanently and ensure the full withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip," reads a statement released by the Palestinian Islamist movement.
Hamas called on Trump, the states that guarantee this agreement and all Arab Islamic and international parties to "force the occupation government to fully implement all the provisions of the agreement and to prevent it from evading or delaying the commitments it has made".
"The sacrifices of our people will not be in vain and we promise to remain faithful to our alliance - never abandoning the national rights of our people until freedom, independence and self-determination are achieved," it reads.
Hamas will release all 20 hostages alive at the weekend, while the Israelis will withdraw from most of Gaza. (SIC)
