Vendors at the Fish Market, on the Costa do Sol beach, have been demonstrating since this morning to claim an alleged sale of the old Fish Market space in Maputo city.

According to one of the vendors at the Fish Market quoted by the newspaper Notícias, the complaints are linked to the lack of compensation for the sale of the old fish market space.

"We want compensation for the sale of the old market and the respective house that was on the site, because we are legitimate owners of the old market stalls" said one of the vendors without announcing his name.

Right now the vendors and the authorities are in negotiations for a meeting at the old fish market.

The demonstration causes a long queue of vehicles in very slow motion along the Chihango-Costa do Sol section of Marginal Avenue.
