Almost two months after Russian troops invaded Ukraine, the number of refugees resulting from the conflict has already exceeded five million, writes Reuters.
According to data from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), quoted by the same agency, the barrier was surpassed, this Wednesday, with the organization registering, in the last 24 hours, more than 20,000 new departures from the country.
According to the Guardian, the organization's deputy commissioner also reported that more than seven million people are displaced within the country.
Poland is currently the country that has received the most refugees from Ukraine (about 2.8 million).
