The mining industry has been growing exponentially in Africa, creating positive impacts on local economies.
Aware of its development and positioning itself as a partner in catalyzing it, Absa Bank was the sponsor of the largest regional meeting, Mining Indaba 2023, under the theme - Unlocking African Mining Investment: Stability, Security, and Supply, which took place in Cape Town, in neighboring South Africa, from 6 to 9 February this year.
As well as being a leader in financing the natural resources and energy sector, the bank has positioned itself as a strategic partner for mining projects in Africa, and at this conference it shared its experience in the field by taking part in some of the panel discussions.
It was with her eyes set on the future of mining in Mozambique, and looking not only for new opportunities, but also for new solutions to continuously support her clients, that the Director of Corporate and Investment Banking, Patrícia Darsam, represented the bank and acknowledged that the "mining sector is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of our strategic pillars and where we intend to continue to lead".
Mining Indaba is a platform that promotes sustainable reforms and investment in the mining sector on the African continent, with the participation of various companies and projects that encompass the pan-African and international network.
