Health Minister Armindo Tiago said yesterday that by next November all the demands of the medical profession will be met.
The minister, who was speaking last night during Radio Mozambique's "Cartas na Mesa" program, revealed, however, that the government has already met the short-term demands made by the medical association to suspend the strike.
"It should be noted that the Mozambican Medical Association wrote in the strike guidelines that it would maintain minimum services. And minimum services are a constitutional requirement, it's not an option for the striker, it's a constitutional issue," during the program.
"Eventually, in some sectors in some health units, we are seeing that the Medical Association of Mozambique is not complying with the minimum services requirement," he said.
In an analysis of the impact of terrorism on the health sector in Cabo Delgado, he said that targets had not been met due to the scenario.
