Government acknowledges delay in overtime payment to teachers

Governo reconhece atraso no pagamento de horas extras a professores

The government has admitted that there is a delay in the payment of overtime allowances to general secondary school teachers.

This was acknowledged yesterday in Maputo by the government spokesman, Filimão Suaze, at the end of the 23rd Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers, in response to a question from journalists about alleged problems in the payment of this subsidy.

Even though it wasn't the subject of debate at the session, Filimão Suaze was willing to explain the matter, pointing out that efforts have been made by the Education and Human Development sector to control the situation.

At yesterday's session, among other things, the Executive considered the Decree approving the Regulation on the Communication of Job Vacancies and Pre-Professional Internships, which establishes rules of procedure applicable to the process of communicating job vacancies and pre-professional internships to the competent and specialized entity in the field. It applies to all employers and public administration bodies.
