Government may back off on relief from some covid-19 prevention measures

The government may backtrack on the decision to ease some of the covid-19 prevention measures announced last week by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, if the transgression of the rules of case containment prevails.

This is an affirmation made, this Tuesday in Maputo, by the spokesperson of the Council of Ministers, Filimão Suázi, in the usual Tuesday press conference.

"The government has noted with deep concern the fact that some citizens are violating the decree on covid-19 prevention measures by consuming alcohol on beaches, using the most varied tactics to do so, from burying colmans in the beach sand, using plastic cups and others, as a way to ensnare the police and municipal authorities," he said.
