The Ministry of Land and Environment is working with partners to mobilize funds for the participation of thirty negotiators who will defend Mozambique's interests at COP-29.
In total, the government needs more than three hundred thousand dollars to take part in the twenty-ninth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29), to be held in November in Azerbaijan.
Quoted by RM, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Land and Environment, Amélia Fumo, said yesterday in Maputo that climate change is a challenge for sustainable development, given the scarcity of financial resources to deal with the impacts.
The country's adaptation and the development and implementation of the loss and damage fund are the topics to be addressed at the conference.
