The Nampula Provincial Executive Council (CEP) says it is improving its response and resilience to weather events, with an eye on the upcoming rainy season.
Speaking a few days ago in a meeting with members of the Planning and Budget Commission of the Assembly of the Republic, governor Manuel Rodrigues said, for example, that in the area of health, the conclusion of the construction works of the centers of Roeque, in the district of Ribáuè; Negoro, in the district of Eráti; and Reno, in Mecubúri, as well as the hiring of more professionals for the sector, are planned.
In education, it has guaranteed the construction of classrooms and the allocation of school desks to cover the needs that the province has. In industry, the Executive will continue with efforts to ensure industrialization, with emphasis on agro-processing.
In public works, the Nampula Executive's bet is to conclude the construction of 47 water supply systems, open 466 boreholes, and rehabilitate 194 other sources.
Attention is also focused on the rehabilitation of the access roads, especially those leading to the production and consumption centers, as most of them are degraded following the occurrence of cyclone Gombe.
In the fiscal area, the Nampula Provincial Executive Council intends to improve revenue collection by broadening the tax base. It also commits to continue to improve the decentralization process.
