The government approved on Tuesday (30), through the Council of Ministers in ordinary session, the decree creating the Palma-Quirimbas Environmental Protection Area, in Cabo Delgado province.
The new area, according to a statement from the Council of Ministers, quoted by Terra MagazineIts aim is to preserve marine, terrestrial and coastal species and their habitats.
"The Decree aims to contribute to the restoration of ecological processes, the renewal of natural resources and the maintenance of the biological diversity of Palma-Quirimbas," the document states.
