Government approves 12.5 billion rainy season Contingency Plan proposal 2022/2023

The Contingency Plan proposal approved this Tuesday by the Council of Ministers for the 2022/2023 rainy season is budgeted at around 12.5 billion meticais.

According to government spokesman Filimão Suázi, the plan aims to ensure coordinated humanitarian assistance to any victims.

The source said that the Executive is currently mobilizing funds to complete the budget deficit part of the Contingency Plan for the current rainy season.

On the same day, Tuesday, the government approved the draft Law on National Defense and the Armed Defense Forces of Mozambique (FADM), to be submitted to Parliament.

The government spokesman said that the instrument aims to give powers to the Council of Ministers to approve the rules for the creation, organization and operation of the Local Force.
