The Council of Ministers yesterday approved the Decree authorizing the issue of the 45th Anniversary Commemorative Coin of the creation of the metical, which will be celebrated on 16 June 2025.

The act took place during the 36th ordinary session of the Council of Ministers, which was held today (10) in Maputo.

The aim of the currency is to promote the history of the metical in the country and in the world, according to the statement issued by the Council of Ministers, which MZNews has seen.

The Sovereign Wealth Fund's Investment Policy was also approved, which defines the risk profile of the investments; the strategic reference index and risk limits, which establishes guidelines on the asset class, its maximum or minimum limits, types of instruments, countries and currencies eligible for investment of the resources and the reference duration for investment of the resources and permitted deviation margins.

The government also approved the Resolution that determines the incorporation of 1,000 providers into the Mozambique Civil Service by 2025.
