Sporting beat Benfica 2-1 on Thursday in the first leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals.
Mozambican international Geny Catamo contributed an assist in the win, giving him the edge to make it to the final at Jamor.
During the 85 minutes he was on the pitch, Geny Catamo was a real headache for Benfica's defensive and attacking sectors, and the most notable moment came in the 54th minute, when the Mozambican winger received the ball in the middle of midfield and slid a pass through for Gyökeres to score to make it 2-0 to Benfica, who went into the break leading 2-0. Pote had scored in the ninth minute. Aursnes reduced the deficit for the Eagles in the 68th minute.
With this victory, Sporting are in the driving seat in the semi-final and only need a draw in the second leg, scheduled for April 3.
