The Baixo Limpo Irrigation Company in Gaza expects to harvest around 48,000 tons of rice in the current harvesting season, in the Chókwe and Baixo Limpopo irrigated areas.
According to information provided by RM so far, rice has been harvested in an area of more than 200 hectares, out of around 8,000 hectares sown, in the two largest irrigated areas in Gaza province.
The chairman of the company's board of directors, Armando Ussivane, says that on the ground, nine combines are involved in the rice harvesting campaign.
The source also says that the rice harvesting campaign in the Chokwe and Lower Limpopo irrigated areas will last until the end of May.
