At least 109 people lost their lives in the first five months of this year in Gaza province as a result of 86 road accidents, according to the police authorities there.
In addition to the deaths, 248 people suffered serious and minor injuries, as well as extensive material damage to the vehicles involved and various public and private properties, according to a police source.
The provincial commander of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM), João Mupuela, was quoted by Notícias online as saying that there had been a reduction in road accidents, with 86 cases recorded compared to 136 in the first five months of 2022.
