Galp inaugurated a new gas station yesterday in Machava, Maputo province, bringing the number of service stations in its network in Mozambique to 82 and strengthening its position as a pillar of the country's energy sector, bringing it closer to local communities and its customers.
The new station is expected to generate around 50 direct jobs, contributing to the economic development of the region and offering new job opportunities to the local population.
The opening ceremony was attended by Felisbela Cunhete, National Hydrocarbons Director, company officials, representatives of local communities and strategic partners.
"This inauguration is a sign of Galp's commitment to Mozambique, where we have been working for almost 70 years, creating value, generating jobs and boosting economic development in a sustainable way," said Jorge Carvalho, CEO of Galp Marketing Internacional, at the inauguration ceremony.
In her speech, Felisbela Cunhete praised Galp's strategic role in strengthening the fuel sub-sector and in Mozambique's energy development: "The inauguration of this station is part of the government's policies to guarantee quality fuels and associated services accessible to the population, contributing to job creation and the strengthening of the sector. Galp has been a strategic partner in this national effort."
The Machava station has all the distinctive elements of Galp's integrated offer, whose network covers all the country's provinces, offering high quality fuels, digital innovation, excellent service and convenience, through partnerships that enrich the customer experience.
