Civil servants threaten to stop work if the thirteenth is not paid

Funcionários públicos ameaçam paralisar actividades, caso não haja pagamento do décimo terceiro

State employees and agents are threatening to stop work from Monday (20/01) if the thirteenth month is not paid in full.

The information was released this Friday by the National Teachers' Association (ANAPRO), which adds that teachers will not accept the special exam being taken before payment.

"We currently feel that we are being devalued and disrespected in our role. The allegation of lack of financial availability has often been used to avoid resolving this impasse," says the civil servants' statement to which MZNews has had access.

"The government has the money, it can pay," said Isaque Marrengula, a representative of the National Teachers' Association (ANAPRO), who explained that it was only afterwards that information about the non-payment of the thirteenth salary was broadcast on television, "thanks to a question from the media".

The civil servants reiterate that until the thirteenth salary is paid, civil service activities will be paralyzed.
