Today in Maputo, the Frelimo party thanked the Mozambican Association of Traditional Doctors (AMETRAMO) for the October 2023 elections.

"We were involved in a process of political competition for the local elections and we saw AMETRAMO's support. And that's why we want to thank you for your work," said Francisco Mucanheia, head of the Frelimo Central and Maputo City Assistance Brigade.

In a meeting with traditional doctors, he also demonstrated the party's satisfaction with the cordial relationship and support in mobilizing the electorate.

"AMETRAMO is our intercession between us and our ancestors, the one whose memory we invoke so that there may be peace and harmony in our land. So this is our tradition. We have no doubt that AMETRAMO carries Frelimo in its heart," he said, quoted by Radio Mozambique.

In the meantime, AMETRAMO has demonstrated its desire to be closer to the party's decision-making bodies, as well as to the Assembly of the Republic.

"We are asking and appealing for traditional doctors to be valued," said the AMETRAMO representative.
