The Frelimo party says it recognizes Mozambican women as active protagonists in the liberation struggles, in the consolidation of peace and in the country's social and economic progress.

In a message sent on the occasion of April 7, Mozambican Women's Day, which is being marked today, Frelimo reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting the full emancipation of Mozambican women, fighting all forms of discrimination and inequality.

In the message, the political group urges women to lead initiatives to support the victims of violent acts, be they children, members of the Defense and Security Forces, supporters and members of Frelimo, providing moral and material comfort to their families.
