Frelimo wants to revise the party statutes and agenda for the 12th Congress

Frelimo quer rever os estatutos do partido e da agenda XII Congresso

The Frelimo party has just announced that it will revise its statutes in order to improve the definition of the nature, principles and working methods of the party, taking into account the new dynamics at an internal and international level.

The revelation was made, in Maputo, by the President of the governing party, Filipe Nyusi, speaking at the opening of the second extraordinary session of the Central Committee, a one-day meeting to discuss the agenda of the 12th Congress, to be held from September 23 to 28, in Matola, Maputo province.

Nyusi also said that the "revision of the Frelimo program essentially aims to reaffirm our vision of development focused on building a prosperous, inclusive, united, harmonious society of social justice, focused on the defense of the highest interests of Mozambicans.

The President of Frelimo also said quoted by the newspaper Notícias, that in this session will be made a balance of the preparatory activities for the magna meeting of the party, from the study of the theses to the general meetings and encouraged participants to debate the documents in an open manner.

In turn, the Secretary General of Frelimo, Roque Silva, hailed the efforts undertaken by members in pursuit of the objectives set out in the XI Congress of Frelimo.

At the moment, the debates are taking place without the presence of the press, a press conference has been scheduled by the President of Frelimo for the end of the session.
