Frelimo Party President Filipe Nyusi says he is not afraid of the district elections scheduled for 2024 and calls on delegates at the 12th Congress to conduct the debates within the previously approved agenda and away from issues that could cause disunity among Central Committee members.

"Frelimo is ready to participate in the upcoming elections and is not afraid of the elections of district administrators, however, it considers pertinent to reflect on their viability," said the party's President, Flipe Nyusi.

Speaking at the opening, this morning in Matola, of the XII Congress of the party, Filipe Nyusi clarified that the reflection should occur away from political exploitation, analyzing positive and negative aspects of decentralized provincial governance marked by the election of provincial governors in 2019, and that provides for the election of district administrators as of 2024.
