Frelimo elects four new members to the Central Committee

Frelimo elege quatro novos membros para o Comité Central

Yesterday, Frelimo elected four new members to form its Central Committee, during the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Frelimo Central Committee, which took place at the party's central school in the city of Matola.

The political formation secretariat elected Nelson Muianga, Pedro Guiliche, Celmira da Silva and Gonçalves Gemusse.

Gonçalves Gemusse ran for the secretariat and is Frelimo's First Secretary in Tete. Pedro Guiliche is Vice-Rector of Púngue University. Celmira da Silva is the former Governor of Cabo Delgado and Deputy Minister of Land, Environment and Rural Development. And Nelson Muianga is a businessman.

At the end of the session, the party's president, Daniel Chapo, demanded a more efficient secretariat in its activities in order to meet the party's objectives and the wishes of the Mozambican people.

Chapo told the members of the party's secretariat that they will be evaluated repeatedly and rigorously. For this reason, everyone must work hard to perfect a communication strategy to better guarantee the party's legitimacy among Mozambicans, especially with regard to young people.

At the meeting, the party paid tribute to the members who contributed to the party's victory in the last elections, namely Joaquim Chissano, Armando Guebuza, Filipe Nyusi, Alberto Chipande, Filipe Paúnde, Alcinda Abreu, Margarida Talapa, Tomaz Salomão, Aires Ali, Nyeleti Mondlane, Esperança Bias, Ana Comoana, Damião José, Amélia Muendane, Francisco Mucanheia, Celso Correia, Roque Silva, Feliciano Gundana and Eliseu Machava.
