The Polytechnic University and the Tenderness And Love Association (TAL) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Maputo, the purpose of which is to formalize the intention and willingness of both institutions to establish forms of mutual cooperation in the areas of training, through educational lectures, joint organization of events, promotion of academic volunteering and professional internships.
In order to materialize this agreement, the rector of the Polytechnic University, Narciso Matos, received a delegation from TAL in his office to find out more about the actions recommended in the memorandum.
On the occasion, Narciso Matos explained that the signatories to the memorandum operate in different fields of activity, but collaborate in areas where training and technology play a fundamental role.
For this reason, they consider this memorandum to be of mutual interest and importance for the sectors of activity in which they operate.
"Under the agreement, the Polytechnic University reiterates its involvement and interest in collaborating with civil society organizations, above all with Tenderness And Love to further boost the academic volunteering already started at the institution, in order to contribute to the development of society.
The Polytechnic and its students have carried out community actions, making a difference to families and communities in general.
From the Instituto Superior de Gestão, Ciências e Tecnologias (ISGCT) and the Student Center, it will be possible to ensure that students develop and participate in academic volunteering activities," said Narciso Matos.
For her part, the general director of the Tenderness And Love Association, Priscila Sitole, explained that with the signing of the aforementioned memorandum, the Polytechnic University becomes the pioneering partner educational institution to consistently participate in academic volunteering, whether in technical, secondary or university education.
"Through this memorandum, our aim is to involve students in the education projects that our association is carrying out to promote reading and other areas in the schools and communities of the cities where we operate," said the TAL representative.
