On Friday, October 20, LAM - Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique launched a project called Flash Mob at Maputo International Airport, which provides special welcome activities for passengers of the Mozambican airline.
The first event, the Flash Mob initiative, featured a performance by renowned Mozambican musician Jimmy Dludlu and was attended by passengers on flight TM306 on the Johannesburg/Maputo route.
When the flight arrived, passengers were surprised by a performance by Jimmy Dludlu, who played songs from his vast repertoire.
The renowned musician appeared in the arrivals hall strumming his guitar and welcoming the passengers.
On the occasion, Theunis Crous, executive director of Fly Modern Ark (FMA), said that the initiative was designed to welcome passengers on international flights and promote Mozambican culture.
"The initiative is here to stay. We believe that the 30 percent reduction in flight ticket fares could make the company one of the best in the region," he explained.
For his part, musician Jimmy Dludlu said it was a great challenge to represent the LAM brand because it is the best in the country and in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region in terms of aviation services.
"Being associated with the LAM brand to promote tourism and our Mozambican flag is a challenge, but I'm here to represent my country and the LAM flag. Mozambique has everything to succeed in the area of culture and tourism," said Jimmy Dludlu.
Joel Pita, a Mozambican living in Johannesburg, South Africa, was one of the passengers who benefited from the initiative:
"When we checked in we were told to bring an invitation because we'd have a surprise when we arrived and it was a really nice surprise to see Jimmy Dludlu playing here. It's worth implementing initiatives like this and doing it more often," he concluded.
It should be noted that the initiative will cover all the country's provinces, with each airport having an artist from the Flash Mob project who will perform at the arrivals of LAM flights.
