The President of Frelimo, Filipe Nyusi, said moments ago that the end of terrorism in Mozambique goes beyond the ongoing military operations in the northern region of our country.

Nyusi, who was speaking during the opening of the ruling party's 12th Congress, stressed that the government is prioritizing actions in the social and economic fields in order to empower the populations of the regions affected by insurgent attacks.

It should be noted that different civil society actors, both national and international, have pointed to social exclusion and lack of opportunities as one of the causes of terrorism in the northern region of the country.
