Filipe Nyusi recognizes the need for transformation of natural resources

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, recognizes the need for the country to transform its natural resources for subsequent exportation.

The Head of State was speaking on Monday at a meeting he held with representatives of the Mozambique Engineers Association, at the Ponta Vermelha Palace, in Maputo.

The meeting discussed among others, the stage of engineering in the country, training and retention of cadres in the state institutions.

"It became clear that we have problems of absence or weakness or lack of incentives in human resources. I also realized the need to work towards transforming resources and wealth, before exporting and Minister Moreno was clear when he says and it is good, because it deconstructs some pessimistic narrative that has been emerging that we in colonial times had this...as if nothing was happening; loading plates onto the ship to come and assemble them here, in fact, this we can also do, it doesn't cost much, but the important thing now is that this plate cannot leave here. It was clear that this whole movement will help us to reduce imports," said Nyusi.
