The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is taking part in the 37th Ordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) from today to Sunday in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital.
The event is being held under the theme: "Training Africans for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems to increase access to inclusive, lifelong, quality and relevant learning in Africa".
The conference should devote greater attention to assessing the state of implementation of the decisions taken at the 36th Summit on various issues of the continent's development, with an emphasis on peace, security and strengthening continental integration.
The summit will also witness the passing of the presidency of the African Union from Azali Assoumani, President of the Republic of the Union of the Comoros, to Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
