The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, participates from today until Monday (7), in the city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the 35th Ordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, the event takes place under the theme "Building Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent: Strengthening Agriculture, Accelerating Human Capital, Economic and Social Development.
The document further states that the conference will assess the implementation of decisions on member countries' engagement in promoting food and nutrition security, as well as discuss issues of development, peace and security, and the strengthening of continental integration.
During the summit, the Heads of State and Government will witness the handover of the African Union Presidency from Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to Macky Sall of Senegal as the new Chairperson of the African Union and his declaration of acceptance.
On this trip, Nyusi is accompanied by the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo Dlhovo; Agriculture and Rural Development, Celso Correia; Ambassador of Mozambique in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Alfredo Novunga; staff of the Presidency of the Republic and other state institutions.
