Filipe Nyusi: "Mozambique continues to invest in the construction of alternative roads to EN1"

The government guarantees that it will continue to invest in the construction of alternative roads to the National Road Number One (EN1), to prevent the country from being cut off by land in case of flooding, as happened in 2000.

This is according to the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, who was speaking last Friday during the inauguration of the Caniçado-Combomune-Mapai-Chicualacuala section, with 322 Km, financed by the Government.

"The inauguration of this road is of capital importance, not only for Mozambique, but also for Zimbabwe, which from this moment has quick and convenient access to the Port of Maputo, to drain and receive their products, which in the southern region of Africa, will strengthen the role currently played by the Limpopo Rail Corridor, "said Filipe Nyusi.

According to the government, the infrastructure now inaugurated is valued at more than two billion meticais invested by the Government of Mozambique.
