On Friday, May 19th, ideialab, in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the RVO - Dutch Enterprise Agency, graduated 26 women who took part in the 10th edition of FemTech.
The main aim of this program is to support the business development of women entrepreneurs across the country, acting as an accelerator for micro and small businesses, focusing on business growth and the personal development of women entrepreneurs.
The graduation ceremony, which took place at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in a hybrid model, was attended by women from the provinces of Maputo, Sofala, Tete, Nampula and Cabo Delgado.
This edition, which took place in the 100% online format, began in February and, over the course of four months, the participants had access to workshops, various work tools and business advisory sessions so that they could structure the growth plan for their respective businesses.
At the same time, they had the opportunity to take part in sessions led by business experts, where they learned about leadership, digital marketing, partnerships and negotiation, and sessions led by legal entities such as the Tax Authority, BAÚ, INAE and INSS.
"We are happy with the results achieved in this edition, we feel that we have managed to reach more women from different parts of Mozambique and in diverse business areas."
"It was inspiring to see the dedication these women gave to their businesses as well as the mutual support between them, which has already started to generate some partnerships between the participants in this edition," said Ilka Saide, Femtech Project Manager.
The participants in this edition come from 15 different business areas, including consultancy and service provision, communication and marketing, cleaning services, waste management, the sale of education and training materials, among others.
On completing the program, the participants are now part of the Femmies Network, a women's network made up of around 223 women entrepreneurs from previous editions who work in 18 business areas.
"These months have made me mature a lot, I've come to have a different view not only of the business, but of life and my role as a woman and entrepreneur." "I can never thank you enough and I hope that there will be more editions of Femtech so that more women can discover who they are and what they are capable of," said Hawambo Alberto, a participant in the 10th edition of the program.
FemTech has been implemented by ideialab in Mozambique since 2014 and currently has the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and RVO - Dutch Business Agency as partners. It is a project aimed at women aged 25 and over who have been in business for at least two years.
