The president of the Mozambican Football Federation, Feizal Sidat, was appointed vice-president of the Confederation of African Football for the four-year period 2025/2029 in Accra, Ghana.
The appointment was proposed by the president of CAF, South African Patrice Motsepe.
Feizal Sidat is now vice-president of CAF and president of the Mozambican Football Federation.
Last month, Sidat was elected a member of the CAF Executive Committee, representing COSAFA.
"This historic appointment is an unprecedented milestone for Mozambican soccer, marking the first time that a national leader has risen to such a prestigious position in the CAF structure since the country's independence," reads a statement from the Mozambican Football Federation.
