The US Federal Police, FBI, identified this Sunday the man who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania last night.
Thomas Matthew Crooks is 20 years old and was shot dead by the authorities after the shooting.
"The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the individual involved in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania," reads the FBI statement, quoted by CNN International.
According to the authority, "this remains an active and ongoing investigation", encouraging "anyone with information that could help the investigation is encouraged to send photos, videos or call".
Pennsylvania voter records indicate that Thomas Matthew Crooks, with the same address and date of birth, is registered as a Republican, although the records do not clearly indicate when this was done.
It is recalled that Donald Trump was injured during the rally while speaking after shots were heard.
In addition to the shooter, a member of the audience who was present died after being hit by one of the shots and another person is in a critical condition.
According to communications chief Anthony Guglielmi of the Secret Service, the shooter was immediately "neutralized." Bethel Park is a relatively affluent town in the southern part of greater Pittsburgh. The rally site, Butler, is about an hour's drive north of Pittsburgh. (RNMinuto)
