Peasant families in Chemba benefit from bean production project

More than 500 families from Chemba district in Sofala, benefit from a bean production project, implemented by the Sugar Factory "Eco-Farm Mozambique.

The beneficiary families of the project are organized in three cooperatives, which produce the beans in an area of 700 hectares.

The initiative of Eco-Farm Mozambique, a firm dedicated to the production of organic sugar for export, aims to improve the living conditions of the local population, as part of its social responsibility.

For this year, the goal is to produce a little more than 350 tons of beans, according to the manager of the company, Sofiar Vitorino, told Rádio Moçambique.

Fonte, on the other hand, guaranteed technical assistance and irrigation of the production areas, in order to obtain a good harvest.

Eco-Farm Moçambique, Lda. has more than 600 permanent workers, most of them Mozambicans.
