After posting the first drop in revenue since taking the company public, Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made the decision to stop paying for content in the News tab.
These contents, belonging to US publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and even CNN, were paid directly by Meta to these companies.
"Most people don't go to Facebook to watch news, and as a company, it doesn't make sense to invest so much in areas that are not aligned with user preferences," the statement shared by a Meta spokesperson with the site read Axios and quoted by Notícias ao Minuto.
