ExxonMobil, which leads the consortium for the Rovuma LNG project, has selected two contractors to go ahead with the basic engineering project for natural gas exploration in Area 4 of the Rovuma Basin, in Cabo Delgado province.
A publication by Zitamar reports that it is Saipem of Italy and a joint venture between Technip Energies of France and JGC of Japan.
The contractors will work to come up with the best plan as DFI approaches for the project valued at 30 billion dollars. The DFI is scheduled for 2026.
The publication notes that the basic studies, announced by the government this week, will be financed by ExxonMobil. (In the image: Liam Mallon, President of ExxonMobil)
