Exports of goods from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macau in the first ten months of the year rose by 45.9%, compared to the same period in 2021, according to official figures released today.
The value exported by Portuguese-speaking countries to the Chinese special administrative region between January and October this year was 838 million patacas (around 100 million euros), according to a statement from the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) quoted by Lusa.
Meanwhile, the amount of goods imported from Macau by the Portuguese-speaking bloc fell by 74.2% year-on-year, amounting to two million patacas (239,000 euros).
The trade balance in October recorded a deficit of 11.5 billion patacas (1.3 billion euros), said DSEC.
Between January and October this year, the value of exports reached 11.2 billion patacas (1.3 billion euros), 5.1% more than in the same period last year, and the value of imported goods reached 115 billion patacas (13.7 billion euros), a drop of 6.9 in annual terms.
The trade deficit in the first ten months of 2022 stood at 103.7 billion patacas (12.4 billion euros), down 9.1 billion patacas (around 1 billion euros) on the same period last year, DSEC added.
