The Republican candidate for the US presidential elections, Donald Trump, was removed from a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, with blood visible on his right ear, after shots were heard.
According to the news agency APTrump had just started his speech when thunderous applause erupted. The same publication reports that the White House candidate quickly ducked while his bodyguards escorted him from the stage to his car.
However, Donald Trump's campaign said in a statement that the Republican candidate for the US presidential election "is fine", after he was removed from a rally in Pennsylvania after shots were heard at the venue.
According to spokesman Steven Cheung, quoted in the statement, the former US president thanks the authorities and first responders for their swift action during the heinous act.
Meanwhile, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi announced that "Trump is safe", stressing that the gunman had been shot.
For his part, Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger said that the man who shot at Donald Trump's rally was killed and an attendee also died.
