The mayor of the city of Beira, Albano Carige, denounced yesterday (21), through his social network Facebook, that there are schemes to silence him before the Constitutional Council announces the election results of October 9, scheduled for tomorrow, Monday.

According to Carige, the plan to assassinate him is due to take place this weekend and is being led by SERNIC agents, UIR and other police forces in an attempt to silence him.

"The assassination of Albano Carige is being prepared, to take place between Saturday and Sunday before the results are announced, because Albano is a supporter and advisor to Venâncio Mondlane," he revealed.

According to the mayor, his persecution is allegedly because he is a supporter of the PODEMOS presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, who called for general demonstrations to deny the results announced by the CNE.

"In this group that is preparing to eliminate Albano Carige there is one (individual) from the police station sector, a UIR policeman who is currently working in the provincial command sector, a policeman from the SERNIC sector, a policeman who works in reconnaissance at Sofala level from Nhamatanda who is known for kidnapping and killing," he announced.

Albano Carige also says that the actors come from Inhamizua, Macurungo, Manga and other parts of Sofala province.

However, should the plan come to fruition, Carige revealed that he had left a letter with his family and encouraged Mozambicans, especially those from Beira, to continue the country's liberation struggle.

"Everything I'm talking about I left with my family. The disappearance of your son should not be the end of everything, but it should be the continuity of this struggle for the liberation of Mozambicans, for a Mozambique for all," he said.
