The Mozambican writer Agnaldo Bata participated, from September 24th to 26th, in the first edition of the African Book Fair, in Paris, France. Bata took to the city of the Eiffel tower the novel "Dreams Stained, Dreams Lived".
"It went very well. It was something I didn't expect. There were a lot of people interested in literature made by Africans and about Africa," Bata said in an interview with RFI.
Although he did not participate in the various debates during the event, Bata said that there were several exchanges between authors.
"In those in which I was able to participate one could notice an interest in themes that are transversal," he revealed.
Despite this being the first edition - which surprised the author - now "the biggest challenge is to make the fair an annual event".
Coincidentally or not, in that European city, the Mozambican author is studying Social Sciences at the University Paris VIII.
Agnaldo Bata was born in 1991, in the city of Maputo, and already has a considerable portfolio of published plays and novels, highlighting the autobiographical book "Na terra dos Sonhos", and the novel "Sonhos Manchados, Sonhos Vividos".
