Between 2019 and 2022: Seven hundred thousand children remain unvaccinated in the country

Around 700,000 children may not have been vaccinated between 2019 and 2022 at national level, according to estimates by the Ministry of Health (MISAU).

In this context, the Minister of Health, Armindo Tiago, said, as quoted by Notícias, that the government plans to carry out three rounds of routine vaccination in January, covering children under five who have not been immunized since 2019.

Tiago, who was speaking at the National Meeting of the Expanded Vaccination Program, which ended yesterday in the district of Bilene, said that the coverage of the Penta-3 vaccine had dropped from 88% in 2019 to 61% in 2021, at the peak of Covid-19.
