The Mozambican Insurance Company (EMOSE) will not pay insurance policies for damage caused during the period and as a result of the post-election demonstrations.
As the company's Chairman of the Board explained to journalists, the measure stems from the fact that demonstrations and other political events do not fall within the types of occurrences covered by the insurer.
"We've had claims almost every day. In fact, that's why EMOSE exists. Under the policy, demonstrations caused by political events are not covered," said Janfar Abdulai.
He said, however, that there are institutions that have exceptionally requested cover for these types of unforeseeable events.
The CEO was speaking this morning in Maputo, on the sidelines of the 34th National Meeting of the company's managers and staff.
The two-day meeting will take stock of the annual activity report and budget for 2024 and the Mid-Term Review of the 2023-2026 business plan.
