Tesla and SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk has become Twitter's largest shareholder, owning a total of 9.2% of the company responsible for the social network.
Musk, also known as one of the richest personalities in the world, has 73.5 million Twitter shares - that's $2.9 billion.
As the Daily MailThis means that Musk owns far more shares than Twitter co-founder and former leader Jack Dorsey, who owns 'only' 2.25% of the company's shares.
In addition to being the leader of two of today's most media-savvy technology companies, Musk is also an avid Twitter user and frequently uses his social network page as part of his companies' communication strategy and to share a variety of opinions.
Recall that recently Elon Musk held a vote via Twitter where he complained that freedom of expression was at risk on the platform. Shortly after, Musk said he was considering creating his own social network, but on this subject, the businessman did not give more details and it is unknown whether he will go ahead with this proposal.
