The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, yesterday (24) removed Eliseu Machava from his post as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mozambique to the Republic of Cuba..
The information is contained in a statement issued by the Presidency at the end of the day. Eliseu Machava had been Mozambique's ambassador to Cuba since January 2018, having previously served as Secretary General of Frelimo (2014-2017).
Prior to his resignation, last week Daniel Chapo asked Mozambican ambassadors to promote the attraction of more investment to the country, arguing that economic diplomacy should be prioritized.
"We think it's very important for each of us to work to bring more investment to our country, because that's the only way we're going to continue to develop this Mozambique," said the head of state, during a meeting with Mozambican diplomats at the Presidency of the Republic.
